For Our Anniversary

We're so good together 

in this thing that 

We've got going ----------

 

The way our smiles light up

when we are hugging 

or hello-ing.

 

The times we both act silly,

the gentle ways we tease,

The sense of reassurance 

when you give my hand

a squeeze.

 

We have our favourite movies,

favorite places, favorite foods,

We make each other happy

and can read each other's moods.

 

Some days we see eye to eye,

at times we disagree,

But that's because we both accept 

you're you... and i am me.

 

There's no such thing as "perfect,"

but i know this much is true,

Nothing feels more right

than sharing life and love with you.
