A beautiful weekend with my Man

 

I am now on the train going back home to Ottawa. I left at 10:40 am this morning. My Man B came with me to the train station. I feel so privileged and happy to have him in my life. The next time we’ll be together is in 2 weeks in Ottawa.

 

This last weekend was good. We went to see a Korean movie based on true historic events,. The movie is about King Sejong the Great of Joseon (XV’ century) who wants to enhance the nation’s riches and military power through the study of astronomy. The movie shoes his 20-year relationship with his loyal subject and scientist, Jang Yeong-sil. He created instruments he imagines into reality. Threatened by Joseon’s ever-evolving astronomical technology, the Ming Empire (China) orders Joseon to cease the studies and for Jang Yeong-sil to be dispatched. Afraid of Ming, Joseon’s court subject insist Jang must be sent at once, but King Sejong, who thinks dearly of Jang, is deeply troubled by the dilemma.

 

It was interesting about learning a piece of Korean history. That same king is the one who invented the current alphabet thinking it would be easier for the people to learn how to read and write, thus freeing the people. Obviously, those in power at the court thought that this would be dangerous if the people is able to read and write freely.

 

On Sunday morning, we went out for a coffee with a friend from Ottawa who is in Toronto to make some money with his dancing and striptease business.

 

The rest of the time, we stayed home enjoying each other company.
